Are you ready for the Winter Arena?

Have you ever wanted to play in front of the roar of a crowd? The Winter Arena has you covered with competitions all over Oceania and you could play your way into the Winter Regional!

The way it works is you play in a qualifier near you at a participating net café or university. There are 16 spots in the Oceanic Gaming Winter Arena up for grabs and teams of all skill levels are welcome!

The first thing you need to do is to find a qualifier near you to play in:

Australia – qualifying tournaments

NSW - City Hunter 

VIC - GUF (Werribee) 

VIC – GUF (Ballarat) 

VIC - GUF (Geelong) 

QLD - GUF (Brisbane) 

SA - Arena Net 

SA - University of Adelaide 

TAS – GUF (Launceston) 

 

New Zealand – qualifying tournaments

Auckland - Giga 

Wellington - Victorian University of Wellington 

Wellington - Gameland 

The qualifiers begin on the 26th of April and run through to the 4th of May so make sure you register as soon as possible!

 

Hand-picked squads (you need to join the club and they’ll be choosing who plays for them)

Auckland - University of Auckland 

QLD - University of Queensland 

NSW - University of New South Wales 

NSW - University of Technology Sydney 

VIC - Swinburne University of Technology 

VIC – Monash University 

 

What do you get for winning a qualifier? 

Fistbumps! Actually, each of the qualifiers have the following prizes:

1st - 3,600 RP + Triumphant Ryze skin + Qualification for Winter Arena

2nd - 2,400 RP

3rd - 1,600 RP

4th - 800 RP

 

What are the prizes for the Winter Arena?

The Winter Arena champion and runner up will earn a spot in the $45,000 Winter Regional Round of 8 for a chance at winning their way to the International Wildcard Tournament and possibly on to the World Championships in Korea.

1st - 3,600 RP + Triumphant Ryze skin + Qualification for Winter Regional Round of 8

2nd - 2,400 RP + Qualification for Winter Regional Round of 8

3rd - 1,600 RP

4th - 800 RP

 

When is the actual Winter Arena tournament held?

When the 16 teams have qualified (8 from participating net cafes and 8 university teams) they will play in the Winter Arena main tournament on the 9th and the 11th of May.
