Cosplayers, the Pool Party challenge is here!

By Riot Yuka

The Pool Party cosplay challenge is here, which means it’s time to redefine the phrases “champion pool”, “splash art” and “minion wave” in the most literal way possible. For this roundup, we want you to team up and get the pool party started right. Take a dynamic, splash-art inspired photo where it looks like everyone’s just been caught in the middle of having an epic pool party.

Or just put together the largest pool-party group you can with as many cosplayers as possible (don’t forget to collect everybody’s summoner names!). Feel free to design original pool-party skins for your favourite champions if they don’t already exist!

If you’re new to cosplay, don’t stress about making a costume. Pool Party is more about water guns than glue guns. The most important thing is having a good time. Ever wondered how to make League cosplay even more enjoyable? Just add water!

Pool Rules:

  1. We are accepting cosplays of all League of Legends champions, either in official pool-party themed skins, or original fan-designed pool party outfits.
  2. Your photo must have a minimum of five people in pool party themed outfits – now’s your chance to rope in those friends who’ve always wanted to try cosplay but haven’t gotten around to it!
  3. Your costume does not have to be newly made for this competition, and costumes purchased from online cosplay shops are accepted!
  4. Entries will be judged on the following criteria: recognisability of the champion, number of cosplayers in the photo (the more, the better!), photo composition, and how much fun everyone looks like they’re having!
  5. Editing your image in PhotoShop is allowed for minor retouching and special effects, however please avoid creating purely digital costumes or fabricating entire backdrops.
  6. You can submit up to three photos of your group. We're only taking submissions formatted in .jpg or .png; the maximum file size is 5MB and minimum dimensions are 600 x 600px (but the larger, the better!) Any of these three photos may appear on or on associated Riot Games twitter accounts.
  7. You must submit an additional (fourth) photograph to prove you were a member of the pool party cosplay group. A photo of your summoner name written on a piece of paper next to parts of your costume on a desk will suffice. This photo will not be published and is only used to verify entries.
  8. Finally, your submission must abide by our TOU, so keep in mind your photo can’t include any logos, advertisements, product names or product placements (with the exception of League of Legends esports team logos, or photographer watermarks). Also make sure your picture is appropriate for players of all ages: League is rated Teen, so nothing too sexy! (Baywatch Braum, we’re looking at you…)

Submit your photos here before the deadline of the August 23rd, 2015 at 20:59PM AEST. Afterwards, we’ll pick our favourites and open a gallery for you to view all of the amazing submissions.
