Frequently Asked Questions

If your university doesn't have a club yet, and if you believe you have what it takes to be a great organiser, you can start one! Here are a few things that you should take care of before you start:

  • Identify other passionate and capable students to help organise your club.
  • Come up with a name for your club (make sure people will be able to recognise it as a League club!).
  • Create a platform that members can communicate on. Most clubs use Facebook groups.
  • Plan a few events in advance so that potential club members have a reason to join.
  • Once you've done the above, register your club on our club directory page! If you want some hints on getting started check out this thread

No, you don't. Registering your club is a great way to set the foundation and start growing a community at your university.

No worries. Since Riot doesn't own or directly manage any uni clubs, you're free to partner with whoever you like.

We can definitely set you up with swag if you're hosting an event. Visit our events portal for details on prizing support and exposure.

If you're hosting a particularly large event and you're looking for additional support, email a proposal to maraudaur@riotgames.com at least 45 days prior to the start of the event. The sooner you loop us in, the easier it'll be for us to help you! The proposal should contain the following information:

  • Your name and contact information
  • Your club name, the size of the club/event, and the university you're at
  • The goals of your event (what are you trying to accomplish?)
  • Your vision for the event (what does it look like?)
  • Your execution plan for the event and the number of attendees
  • Desired support from Riot (what are you looking for?)
  • Examples of previous events you've hosted (if any)

As a general rule, the more information you give us, the better. Submitting a proposal does not guarantee that we'll be able to support your event, but we can't make a decision without understanding what you're planning. We'll try to respond within 2 - 3 weeks.

We'll consider it on a case-by-case basis, but it's not something we can promise. There are hundreds of community events happening around Oceania every year and there just aren't enough Rioters to attend them all.
