WHY DID RIOT MAKE CHANGES TO THE CHROMAS?

We made chromas to offer you more ways for you to personalise your League experience with content you already love, but feedback showed we missed the mark on the first attempt. We spent a few months working out what improvements we could make to better the chroma experience, and we’ve taken steps to do just that.

HOW DID YOU PICK THE SKINS FOR THESE NEW CHROMAS?
When it came to picking skins to chromafy, we tried to pick from skins that everyone seems to really like and considered its stylistic potential, such as colour combinations and textures. If we thought a chroma would look good and hit that “cool” factor, we started exploring it.
HOW DO I BUY CHROMAS FOR BLUE ESSENCE?
You can buy chromas for 2000 BE twice a year during special chroma BE sales. There will be one for preseason, and another for mid-season. The preseason sales will feature chromas released from January–June, and the mid-season sales will feature chromas released from July–December.
WILL THERE BE MORE CHROMAS?
Yes. We’ll be creating chromas for even more skins in the future. Stay tuned for future updates!
ARE YOU MAKING THESE AS OPPOSED TO NEW SKINS?
Nope! We’re going to keep making new skins and chromas.
WILL THERE BE DISCOUNTS FOR BUYING CHROMAS IN BUNDLES?
Yes. Bundles include chromas for a single skin and will vary in size; the bigger the pack, the bigger the discount.

HOW CAN I SEE ALL THE CHROMAS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE?
All chromas can be found under the “Chromas” sub-tab in the Store’s “Skins” section.
CAN I GIFT CHROMAS? WHAT ABOUT MYSTERY GIFTS?

Previously, you could receive gifted chromas for a skin you purchased. Since gifts are non-refundable, if you were to refund the skin, you’d end up with unusable chromas left over. We don’t want this to happen, so we’re looking into a solution and have disabled chroma gifting until it’s ready. Thanks for your patience!

Chromas also can’t appear in Mystery gifts, but it’s not off the table, and we’ll continue to explore this in the future. Mystery gifts cost more RP than a single chroma, so we would have to come up with a better solution to include them in mystery gifting.

WILL YOU MAKE MORE CHROMAS FOR BASE CHAMPIONS?
Right now, we’re focused on making chromas that deepen your experience with personalised content you already own and love. Skins connect you to your favourite champions, and chromas take it a step further by connecting you to your favourite skins. You can still pick up the existing base champion chromas, but we don’t plan to make more at this time.
HOW CAN I REFUND CHROMAS?
You can directly refund individual chromas with a token. Chroma bundles purchased within the last 90 days are refundable as well, but require a ticket to Player Support with the subject “Chroma Bundle Refund Request.” Each chroma bundle counts as one token.
